Ladies unbeaten so far

The Ladies A team and the Bs are unbeaten so far. So too are the Men’s B with a good 8-0 win over Ramsbury who had their revenge when they beat our Mixed team 6-2.

On the board at last!
May 9th 2009
A number of our teams registered their first point(s) of the season. The Men’s B settled for a draw at Great Bedwyn after being 3-1 down at half-time. The Mens D had a good win at Aldbourne and the Ladies A beat Swindon B 7-1. The Ladies B are still unbeaten after a draw at Minety, as are the Mixed A who beat Marlborough at home. The Mixed Bs too had their first point of the season after drawing on the shale at Nalgo.

League tennis

This year we will try to keep you up to date with how all our teams are doing. News from the first week of competition includes the Men’s A getting off to winning start and the Mixed A notching up a great win over Burbage, thanks to Tracey Fieldsend and Phil Hedditch taking a set off a very strong 1st pair. Another Tennis Leader!
April 24th 2009
Theo Lukens has become the latest junior club member to become a tennis leader. The course for 14-16 year olds is the first step on the coaching ladder. To pass the course, Theo attended 3 training sessions run at Marlborough Tennis Club and did 10 hours of helping Ali and Shaun with mini tennis on a Saturday. Any more out there who would like to get this useful qualification, talk to Ali.
New stringing service

Have your forehands lost their zip? Don’t wait until a string breaks before getting your racket re-strung. We now have a local stringing service run by a club member. Phone Tak for details….
Match Practice Starts
March 27th 2009
Everyone who would like to play in a team this summer is invited to match practice, starting this Monday 30th March.
For the first session at least the evening will be split into D, E & F team from 6.00 to 7.30 and A, B & C from 7.30. If you haven’t played for a team before come at 6.00.
Tuesdays will be Ladies practice. Start will be on 31st March at 6.00.
Mixed practice will be on Thursdays, starting on 2nd April at 7.00 pm.

AGM
February 17th 2009
This year’s (and last year’s) AGM was held on Wed 4th Feb 2009. A good turn out of members braved the snow. Thanks to all who turned up for your suppport and to those who volunteered for the new sub-committees.
