About us
The Club has four all-weather courts situated at the Sports Association Sports Ground, Rylands Way, Wootton Bassett, SN4 8AY. Click here for directions to the courts.
All four courts are floodlit so tennis can be played all through the winter. Club Members have use of the facilities of the Sports Association (bar, changing rooms etc.) but we also have our own pavilion next to the courts.
We have a full programme of tennis throughout the year, catering for all standards. There are two evening Club Sessions for social tennis on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year, a number of fun tournaments at weekends and bank holidays, closed championships during June and twice a year we hire the indoor courts at the Delta Centre in Swindon for a social event.
The club is a long-standing member the Swindon and District League and during the summer season we compete three evenings a week with Mixed, Ladies’ and Men’s teams. We enter teams at all levels to give all members the opportunity of competitive tennis. Juniors also have the opportunity to play in the National Junior Club League. In addition, we enter teams in the local Mixed Winter League.
We have our own professional coach, Alistair Ward, who is LTA licensed as a CCA Level 4 Performance coach. Shaun Smith is a licensed LTA Level 3 coach and works with Ali to provide a full programme of coaching from Mini Tennis to Adult individual and group lessons. New members are always welcome. Our membership year runs from April 1st - March 31st. If you join later in the year the subscription will be reduced pro rata. See Membership page for details and to download a form.
Clubmark
We have Tennis Clubmark accreditation, which means that our policies, procedures and practice meet the high standards demanded by Clubmark.
