About us
The Club has four all-weather courts (2 floodlit) situated at the Sports Association Sports Ground, Rylands Way, Wootton Bassett, SN4 8AY. Click here for directions to the courts.
Club Members have use of the facilities of the Sports Association (bar, changing rooms etc.) but we also have our own pavilion next to the courts.
We have a full programme of tennis throughout the year, catering for all standards. There are two evening Club Sessions for social tennis on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year, a number of fun tournaments at weekends and bank holidays, closed championships during June and twice a year we hire the indoor courts at the Delta Centre in Swindon for a social event.
The club is a long-standing member the Swindon and District League and during the summer season we compete three evenings a week with Mixed, Ladies’ and Men’s teams. We enter teams at all levels to give all members the opportunity of competitive tennis. Juniors also have the opportunity to play in the National Junior Club League. In addition, we enter teams in the local Mixed Winter League.
We have our own professional coach, Alistair Ward, who is LTA licensed as a CCA Level 2 Performance coach. Shaun Smith is a licensed LTA coach and works with Ali to provide a full programme of coaching from Mini Tennis to Adult individual and group lessons. Annual Membership for 2010/11, £140 (discounted £111) for Adults, £285 (discounted £231) for Family and £49 (discounted £37) for Juniors, with a pro-rata reduction for people who join late in the year. New members are always welcome.
